RFID for Time Attendance

Let me start telling the simple RFID technology that I presume really really applicable in here.

Have you ever seen a queue line of employee to punch their clock card during the end of office hour? Most of Us who had ever worked must really familiar with AMANO machine, that will print our visiting and leaving time.

Or at some place they're not punching a card anymore, they're swaping or scanning their ID card to barcode scanner? Or swapping them to MSR (Magnetic Stripe Reader) ?

Yes, those cases are about Time Keeping Activities.Let me take you to a little math game :)
If one person took 3 seconds to do that action, and the sum of employee is 1000 person, how much time will they spend to do that? Yes you're right it's 3000 seconds and equal to 50 minutes! Can you imagine that recording our leaving time could take up to 50 minutes to finish. Anyway there are so many company in here that hired more than 5000 employee, the calculation will raise become 5 time bigger! Regardless this condition could be solved by adding more scanner engine, my question is how many scanner you should buy to make this activities lasts for not more than 10 minutes ???

Let's cut those crap, and I'll tell you how RFID technology can help much-much more efficient in Time Keeping Activities.
In this case we use an UHF RFID technology (I'll tell you more about this technology in my other post)
All you have to do just to put - 1 Pc UHF RFID Reader
- 2 - 4 Sets of Antenna
- UHF RFID card for each person (It's totally different with proximity card that used in banking Industry).
As you know in this era most of RFID Reader has a multi collision capabilty this means that RFID reader could read more than one tag simultaneously at the same time. And our UHF RFID Reader could read upto 2000 tags, yes TWO THOUSAND tags at seconds.

By those facts, the time keeping activities for at least 10,000 person could be finished less than 10 minutes, amazing hah?
But also terms and conditions applied, the gate that could be covered perfectly with our antenna is upto 5 meters, the smaller size of gate would be resulted a better reading performance.

New Beginning

Indonesia, is such a huge country consisting of 33 province and more than 200 million people. But although it seems to be stranged, the reality in here is RFID are newly born. That's why I picked New Beginning for this article.
As I found out there's only a small activities of RFID in Indonesia, most of the RFID technology took place at Banking Industry, such as Flazz BCA and E-toll MANDIRI as we knew though it seems that RFID penetration took the wrong path, I should thank enough to them who's started introducing the way RFID work to people. In this case, it makes me easier too to describe how RFID can help their works :)
But in my opinion, RFID implementation is much much more beyond of what people knew in this moment.
I hardly ever found a customer or my future customer, who can accept my explanation about how RFID can help their manual work, most of them always asking me doubtfully, is it for real? Is it possible? And lot of negative questions for me. It took a lot of patience and explaination for them, and sometimes I should cut their questions, with offering to arrange another meeting and bring as much person as they want to attend the next meeting, to see the demo with their own eyes. Most of them agree to answer my challenge, and on the demo day, they'll impress their new experience with Aaaah or Wow that's worked!
Yeahhh that's Indonesia my beloved country! As one of the RFID player in here, it will be take a lot of efforts to introduce this brand new technology, but as a businnesman I do love challenges and please pray for me so I can stand till my last breath to penetrate the RFID solution in here :)
